Faith Based Investing Devotional Series

In 2020 we launched our Cornerstone Portfolios. Since then, we've been trying to find other ways to spread our faith and encourage other Christians. On Saturdays we now post (on LinkedIn and Facebook) different faith-based devotionals focused on the workplace. In case you missed it, here are all the posts from a five-part Faith Based Investing devotional series:

So many Christians feel like they need to separate their faith and work, but in reality, God doesn’t want us to do that. Over the next 5 weeks, we’re going to be sharing a short video devotional on what the Scriptures say about faith-based investing.

If you’re a Christian and you’ve been torn on whether or not you can bring your faith into your work, you should watch these videos. The first week focuses on the following verses:

John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

God wants to share His wisdom with us, but it’s up to us to ask and listen to it.

Last week's video devotional focused on God's wisdom. This week, we're focusing on the fact that we can't just hear God's wisdom; we must also APPLY His word. The video focuses on the following verses:
Luke 6:47-49 (the wise and foolish builder)

Hebrews 3:15 "As it is said, 'Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.'"

In what ways are you going to take action?

Part 3 of our 5-part devotional series focuses more on investing. It's so important to remember that we represent Jesus in all areas of our lives! Biblically Responsible Investing doesn't have to be a daunting task. Watch the short video for some questions you can ask yourself to help filter companies you're investing in: https://lnkd.in/gqjdWkwy

Here are the verses that are discussed in the devotional:
Romans 12:9 "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good."

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Have you heard the phrases, "put your money where your mouth is," and "money speaks louder than words"? In part 4 of our short devotional series, talks about the above phrases and how we ought to approach companies that go against the Bible. https://lnkd.in/geayszyf

We shouldn't just sit back and watch. We need to speak up for what's right and good, but we need to do so in a gracious way -- speaking the truth in love.

Check out these verses brought up in the devotional:
Esther 4:14 "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

Colossians 4:6 "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

Most investors are only seeking returns and trying to please their clients. Christian investors are also trying to do that; however, they are also seeking to make positive impacts and please the Lord. Because of this, Christian investors should be ready to work harder than the rest of the industry.

Don't let this deter you from Biblically Responsible Investing! Watch the final video in the 5-part devotional series for some encouragement: https://lnkd.in/gXu9hAEW
